Christmas Day

I like this gift. My wife is very thoughtful. I will try to be thoughful and share some of those thoughts in the days to come.

Twas 3 nights before Christmas....

Hi. We still haven't gotten Board approval for our landscaping. We called the ringleader over the weekend and he said they would "definately" get to it in January.
Meanwhile, the man of the house is reading about building a reading/writing shack. Can I also have a sewing/crafting shed? With heat and XM radio?
It is terribly cold right now and we have both been sick for a few days. Not being able to work in the yard was fine with us over the weekend. However, when we are feeling better and it warms up, some pesky trees may lose their lives.

Well, we still have not heard back from the Board. We cannot start building the fence until they approve the project. We wait patiently. There is plenty of other things going on this time of year to keep us occupied.
Winter has arrived like a lion. I feel as though we were shorted on Fall. Perhaps we will get a few more mild spells and not all freezing temps from now until March.

The week leading up to Turkey

Boy-o-boy, it has been right chilly lately. Didn't have much time in the yard this weekend, but we did spend Sunday building our Gingerbread Chapel. (The photos attached are of the Chapel on display at the gallery.)

We are still waiting to hear from the Architectural Control Board about our plans, so we can't yet start tearing out trees or sidewalk.

We walked over to one of the board members to drop off the plans. It was freezing outside and Bill said they would probably think we are crazy.
This past weekend, we planted bulbs, cleaned up the lawn, and expanded the vegetable garden footprint.

The beginning

Today, we will send off or hand deliver our landscape master plan for the house. And then wait....
